Yesterday we went to Starlab at the Rotorua Museum. We went there by bus to find out about Matariki. When we got there we met Gloria who owns the Starlab.
We went into a big Matariki tent and looked at all the stars in the sky. We looked at Mars, the Moon and we even saw a Moon Buggy!
I got to hold a super heavy meteor that was worth $1000. It was the only piece of space I will get to touch.
I learnt about Saturn and that the rings around it are made of dust particles. I thought it was cool that people right now are leaving on the space station. They float and have to sleep in these crazy sleeping bags upright attached the wall. They can't shower because of the gravity and the water. I really want to go to Saturn because the rings were really interesting.
Did you know that Saturn is the bright light you can see in the sky at night, you know its not a star because it doesn't flicker.
Thank you Gloria and Emma for an exciting afternoon at Starlab. We had so much fun!
